Jamyang Tobgay Dorji

Born 2002, from Thimphu

As a child, I was always surrounded by art, most of which were paintings by my grandfather. I don’t have many memories of him as he passed away while I was very young but his paintings always made me feel a connection to him. I was fascinated by the concept of how impactful a person could be through their artwork and this inspired me to leave my own message for the generations to come. Our country, Bhutan is deeply rooted within its culture and as an artist, it is my dream to be able to contribute to the rich and beautiful history of art in Bhutan.
