Lobzang Yonten (Lobez)

Born 1997, from Haa

My life changed when I met Asha Kama at Camp Raven, where children of armed force personnel could go in summer. I was always interested in drawing, and when VAST Bhutan volunteered to teach art at the camp, I was immediately drawn. Asha recognized my interest and encouraged me to pursue it. I join VAST in 2017, and I am now a member and volunteer. The mediums that I often use are acrylic, pencil and watercolours.

My family, friends and especially Asha have always support my art and inspired me to be a good human being. Discovering the world of great art has been thrilling, and I find the Renaissance period particularly exciting. I love this journey of being an artist even though I am still learning. I see obstacles as opportunities of learning.
