Tshering Namgay
Born 1997, from Tashi Yangtse
My brother Gyempo introduced me to the world of art. Looking through the artistic lens- I was inspired by the people I met through him. From working as his apprentice to working alongside my friends at VAST Bhutan, I was further inspired by Asha Kama to bring out my creative side. I later joined the National Institute of Zorig Chusum, where I learnt the traditional method of painting. The blending of both modern and traditional methods in creating portraits brings me much joy and excitement. Painting the faces of people and painting portraits of enlightened beings brings me great peace. I hope to keep the method of traditional painting alive and would like to inspire the younger ones to see its beauty and sacredness
