Art Description

Flowers are a marvel of nature, and they make my heart happy. Peonies are especially beautiful flowers to look at and paint- for centuries in eastern culture peonies have been a symbol of good luck, opulence, and prosperity.

I enjoyed working on this piece and attempting to translate the sense of being alive and vibrant that these flowers have.

Jharna Monger

Born 1996 , from Sarpang

I graduated in Applied Arts from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, India in 2020 with the VAST Bhutan art scholarship.

I love doing portraits and landscapes but also enjoy illustrations and design. Painting landscapes gives me peace and takes me to my happy place. I enjoy painting portraits of elderly people and young children, I find that they are the most unselfconscious in their expressions of emotion, which is what I want to capture in my work. I would like to be known as a realistic artist as I love to do detailed work and have a lot of patience. I want my work to bring peace and happiness to people.
