Dawa Yangchen

Born 1997, From Tashigang

As a little girl, I loved sitting by the window, painting the world outside with my favorite crayons. The unforgettable memory of my Principal, who said, “ If you could only show as much creativity in your studies”, made me pursue my dreams in art.

In 2017, selected by VAST Bhutan, I won the ICCR Scholarship to study at the renowned art college, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat, India. I graduated in 2021 with a degree in Bachelor of Visual Arts (Fine Arts). Besides studying various art mediums in college from digital, photography, and sculpture, my love for painting was strengthened there.
